About Norseman District High School

Norseman District High School (NDHS) is a Level 5 school catering to students from Kindergarten through Year 12. Established in 1896, NDHS is supported by the Ngadju people who possess a deep connection to the land and a strong cultural heritage. Role Overview

The school is seeking a motivated and organized Program Coordinator for Student Services. This position involves collaboration with the leadership team and the Principal to manage Students At Educational Risk (SAER), oversee behaviour management across K-12, and develop a comprehensive Social Emotional Learning program. The Coordinator will take a strategic and practical leadership role regarding student wellbeing, mental health, behaviour, participation, attendance, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes leading case management for students identified at educational risk and preparing various documented support plans for students with educational challenges or disabilities. Responsibilities also include establishing administrative and operational systems within the student support portfolio based on departmental policies. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to work effectively with staff, students, parents, external stakeholders, and the wider community.

Teaching Component

This position involves a teaching allocation up to 0.6 full-time equivalent (FTE), with the subject area determined by the applicant's qualifications and the Principal's consultation. Both primary and secondary trained teachers are invited to apply.

Incentives and Additional Supports

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa for the appointment duration

  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and clearance from the Department of Education Screening Unit before appointment
