Company Overview
AMPHICO is a pioneering company addressing longstanding environmental challenges in the textile industry by eliminating harmful chemicals traditionally used in waterproofing and dyeing fabrics. Their innovations include Amphitex™, a PFAS-free waterproof breathable membrane designed for recyclability, and Amphicolor™, a water-free color technology that removes toxic chemicals while offering enhanced color options. Supported by Innovate UK, industry partners, and major retail collaborations, AMPHICO is transitioning from lab-scale breakthroughs to production, inviting team members to actively shape their growth.
Role Summary
The Project/Delivery Manager will be embedded within AMPHICO's cross-functional teams rather than managing from a distance. This agile-focused delivery role involves coordinating multiple fast-paced teams working across design, technical product development, and commercial activities. The candidate will maintain smooth workflows by establishing rhythms, identifying blockers early, and ensuring timely decision-making and task handoffs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive progress across several teams simultaneously by facilitating planning, weekly updates, retrospectives, and keeping priorities transparent and teams aligned.
- Translate evolving commercial activities, including partner, customer, and pipeline developments, into actionable and prioritized technical tasks balanced with R&D initiatives.
- Convert leadership's strategic objectives into clear, lightweight plans with assigned responsibilities and realistic timelines without hampering team agility.
- Detect risks and dependencies early, escalate delays, prompt necessary decisions, and reallocate resources to sustain momentum.
- Maintain straightforward and accurate tracking tools such as roadmaps, OKRs, and dashboards that reflect actual progress.
- Support gathering and analyzing product insights, user pain points, and requirements to inform iterative product improvements.
- Serve as a communication nexus across design, technical, commercial, and operational domains, ensuring clarity and shared ownership.
- Participate hands-on with operational and logistical tasks appropriate to the scale of the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in delivery management, agile project coordination, or product support, preferably within a high-growth startup or R&D-driven environment.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple multidisciplinary teams concurrently in fast-moving settings.
- Adaptable communication and facilitation style tailored to designers, engineers, scientists, and commercial professionals rather than enforcing uniform processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in translating dynamic commercial developments into clear, prioritized technical tasking.
- Understanding and practical application of agile methodologies including sprint planning and retrospectives, with the judgement to implement them in a streamlined manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating trade-offs effectively and maintaining focus amidst continuous changes.
- Proactive approach with a bias for action; comfortable making informed decisions quickly even with incomplete data and adjusting course as needed.
- Self-driven, solution-oriented individual passionate about sustainable technological innovations.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Background in textiles, fashion, or materials science product development.
- Experience liaising between commercial and technical teams to facilitate collaborative workflows.
- Familiarity with iterative research and development and design processes.
- Certification or training in agile project management (e.g., Scrum Master), though not mandatory.
- Experience coordinating teams distributed across various international time zones.
- Knowledge of Notion software for project documentation and collaboration.
Compensation and Additional Details
- Competitive salary range: £45,000 to £50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Open to candidates with less conventional project management backgrounds but who possess the appropriate mindset and pace to succeed in this role.
