QMS Auditor

Role overview

Centex Exports is looking for a QMS Auditor in Ludhiana to support the organization’s Quality Management System by planning, carrying out, reporting on, and following up internal audits. The position is focused on meeting ISO requirements, company procedures, and relevant regulatory obligations while strengthening process performance, lowering risk, and supporting continuous improvement.

Core responsibilities

• Build, schedule, and execute the annual internal audit plan.
• Check adherence to ISO standards, customer expectations, SOPs, and internal procedures.
• Carry out audits based on both process flow and risk exposure.
• Prepare audit checklists, reports, and concise audit summaries.
• Record audit observations clearly and objectively.
• Identify and categorize findings as Critical, Major, Minor, or Observation.
• Validate root-cause analysis using methods such as 5 Why and Fishbone analysis.
• Review and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor closure of non-conformances within the required timelines and confirm that actions are effective.
• Maintain and improve QMS documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, OPLs, formats, and records.
• Check document-control practices and support standardization and document revisions.
• Assess process risks and opportunities and participate in risk-assessment exercises.
• Confirm that risk controls are implemented and working as intended.
• Drive prevention-focused actions to reduce repeat issues.
• Encourage PDCA-based improvement practices and support Kaizen, Lean, and other quality initiatives.
• Track QMS KPIs and improvement activities.
• Review compliance with health and safety requirements, identify unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective measures.
• Conduct awareness sessions on QMS expectations, audit readiness, CAPA, and ISO requirements.
• Support the development of internal auditor capability across teams.
• Coordinate with certification bodies and customer auditors during external and surveillance audits.
• Provide documents and evidence required for audits and follow up until external findings are closed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
• Hands-on understanding of internal audit methods.
• Familiarity with CAPA handling and closure tracking.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis using 5 Why and Fishbone tools.
• Understanding of risk-based thinking and preventive action principles.
• Working knowledge of the PDCA cycle.
• Ability to manage SOPs and document-control practices.
• Exposure to 5S practices and workplace organization concepts.
• Awareness of basic health and safety compliance requirements.
• Ability to classify audit findings by severity.
• Diploma in Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is mentioned in the role notes.
• Internal Auditor certification is preferred, with ISO 9001 certification preferred.
• Lead Auditor certification is an added advantage.

Compensation: INR 2,50,000 to INR 3,50,000 per year
