Job Overview
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is tasked with performing comprehensive quality inspections on gas turbine components throughout the repair process, including incoming, in-process, and final stages. This role involves identifying defects, assessing inspection outcomes against relevant codes, standards, and specifications, and ensuring stringent adherence to safety, environmental health and safety (EHS), quality, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of incoming and final gas turbine components to detect any nonconformities or defects.
- Interpret technical documentation, perform precise measurements, and evaluate findings in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Adhere strictly to organizational policies, promoting EHS, quality, and regulatory compliance within the workshop environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical diploma or equivalent background in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
- Practical knowledge of NDT inspection methodologies.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Familiarity with quality assurance, safety standards, and shop floor computer systems.
- Capable of interpreting technical drawings, repair instructions, and employing measurement tools like calipers and dial indicators.
- Experience with SAP software is advantageous.
- Certified Level II NDT qualification in Penetrant Testing (PT) preferred.
- Understanding of EHS and quality requirements in manufacturing settings.
- Ability to comprehend work instructions and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures thoroughly.
- Skilled in preparing detailed technical reports.
- Competent in analyzing technical documents and drawings.
