About the Company
Dexter Construction Company, a prominent and diverse organization, operates extensively within the heavy civil construction sector across the Atlantic Provinces. The company is currently seeking a Scale House Operator to be based in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
Job Summary
The chosen candidate will manage the flow of truck traffic through the scale facility efficiently and will operate point of sale systems for both card payments and cash transactions. This role requires ensuring that invoicing and weigh slips are accurate and detailed for external customers as well as internal company projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage customer vehicle weighing processes as they enter and exit the site in a timely manner.
- Prepare detailed invoices reflecting customer accounts, materials, and respective locations accurately.
- Serve as the frontline contact for customers handling cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding material disposal charges.
- Guide customers properly within the yard for material drop offs.
- Perform additional related tasks as needed.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel and openness to learning new software tools.
- A proactive mindset with strong initiative and a positive attitude.
- Highly motivated, punctual, and energetic work ethic.
- Attention to detail and aptitude for solving problems efficiently.
- Capacity to quickly adapt and learn in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work on Saturdays when required.

- Possession of a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license is mandatory.
