Scrum Master

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with Java expertise to join a multinational professional services firm on an initial six-month contract based in Dublin, with a hybrid working arrangement and the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate essential Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives for software engineering teams focused on high-integrity financial and revenue applications.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to refine and prioritize backlogs, ensuring user stories related to payment processing, tax compliance workflows, and ledger management systems are well-defined and meet compliance standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve team impediments, safeguard engineering resources, and promote Agile best practices to guarantee consistent and trustworthy sprint outcomes.
• Collect, monitor, and report key delivery metrics such as burn-down charts, velocity, and lead time to facilitate transparency among technical teams and cross-functional financial partners.
• Cultivate a culture committed to continuous improvement, autonomy, and high standards of quality within a rigorously audited environment governed by data privacy and security regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 4 to 6 years of direct experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software development environments.
• Have managed Scrum teams developing Java-based solutions leveraging modern cloud and microservices architectures.
• Experience in Agile delivery within domains like financial services, taxation, payments, or revenue management software products.
• Understand Irish and European regulatory frameworks (including SEPA, data protection, audit compliance) as they influence software release management.
• Hold recognized Agile certifications such as PSM I/II or CSM, and demonstrate proficiency with backlog management platforms like Jira and Confluence.
