Role Overview
The Security Dispatcher will be responsible for managing event security operations at Player 15 Group events, supporting staff training, and assisting leadership with staffing and hiring initiatives. This position requires overseeing the Event Security Control Center, ensuring protocols are followed, maintaining situational awareness, and upholding arena policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the Event Security Control Center during events.
- Participate in training, onboarding, and development of security personnel.
- Support recruitment and staffing efforts as delegated by leadership.
- Develop and implement standardized dispatch protocols for consistency across events.
- Assist in preparing and delivering training materials; occasionally moderate training sessions.
- Ensure security staff are adequately positioned, equipped, and prepared.
- Enforce arena policies, safety regulations, and the NBA Fan Code of Conduct professionally and consistently.
- Monitor crowd behavior to detect safety issues, suspicious activities, or breaches in policies.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and challenging guest situations.
- Guide team members during emergencies, evacuations, and re-entry procedures.
- Report suspicious behaviors, unattended items, injuries, safety violations, and facility concerns promptly to leadership.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain constant situational awareness inside and outside the arena, including patrol and response duties.
- Possess thorough knowledge of arena layout and amenities to assist team members and guests.
- Serve as a reliable source of information regarding event specifics and answer team inquiries courteously.
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance security operations while prioritizing safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information following organizational policies.
- Commit to working at least 90% of events.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Exceptional customer service and guest interaction capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative mindset.
- Sound judgment and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- High standards of accountability and professionalism.
- Strict adherence to security rules, procedures, and protocols.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience with ability to mentor and coach staff.
- Familiarity with radios, communication tools, and security technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Eligibility for promotion from security roles within the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in core functions and expectations of roles such as Event Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Team Captain.
- Preferred minimum two years of security dispatch experience.
- Preferred minimum three years of customer service experience.
- Prior leadership or supervisory roles are highly preferred.
- Military or law enforcement background is advantageous.
