Senior Engineer - Cloud Platform

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to undertake the deployment, security hardening, testing, and upkeep of cloud technologies predominantly across Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle platforms. This role requires collaboration with architects during the requirements gathering and design phases and supports Level 3 operations on cloud as well as Windows and Linux workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage cloud native services, including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, networking, storage, compute, cloud identity, Kubernetes, automation, and governance policies across Google Cloud, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.
• Create and modify automated scripts to meet business needs and reduce repetitive manual tasks within cloud environments.
• Provision resources in multi-cloud setups ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and adherence to site reliability engineering principles.
• Configure and secure Microsoft infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Group Policies, LAPS, SCCM/WSUS, BitLocker, and PKI services.
• Operate and maintain Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu Linux platforms.
• Manage access rights and security permissions across Azure, Oracle, and Google clouds.
• Design, develop, and update Infrastructure-as-Code templates using tools like ARM templates or Terraform.
• Oversee cloud resource management, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies to maximize system availability and performance.
• Collaborate with vendors, delivery teams, and architecture groups to ensure timely solution deployment and minimal customer impact.
• Monitor cloud environments to swiftly identify and address operational issues, implementing robust backup and recovery plans.
• Use performance and diagnostic tools effectively to test and validate hardware/software changes.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and enforce high-quality standards for internal and client-facing deliverables.
• Deploy and maintain policy-as-code, Azure Policy, Google Organization Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Google Security Command Center to enforce governance and enhance cloud security.
• Administer encryption, key vaults, certificate management, and secrets management services, including Azure Key Vault and Google Cloud KMS.
• Manage metrics and logging platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Sentinel integration, and Application Insights.
• Operate API management, databases, and integration platforms including day-to-day control plane functionalities.
• Deploy cloud resources following well-architected frameworks, incorporate AI technologies, and manage container orchestration platforms including Kubernetes clusters (AKS, GKE, OKE) and Red Hat OpenShift.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA/CKAD), Azure/GCP/OCI associate or professional certifications, ITIL Foundation.
• A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years dedicated to cloud environments.
• Proven track record as a Cloud Platform Engineer managing Azure, Oracle, and Google cloud infrastructures, particularly Kubernetes workloads.
• Experience delivering large-scale cloud platform operations and providing tier 3 technical support.
• Strong networking knowledge including VPN, DNS, load balancing, and firewall concepts.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation within cloud ecosystems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as ARM templates or Terraform is essential.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure deployment encompassing design, troubleshooting, and implementation phases.
• Participation in transformation projects and successful handoffs to implementation support teams.
• Worked on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) implementations is a plus.
