Senior ITS Engineer

Overview

An international engineering consulting firm is looking for an accomplished Senior Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer to strengthen its Roads & Infrastructure team specializing in highway projects based in Qatar.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer, Civil Engineering or related fields.
• At least 15 years' experience in ITS, transportation infrastructure, and highway projects.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience specifically within the GCC region.
• Mandatory possession of a valid MMUP/UPDA certification.
• Demonstrated expertise in the design, evaluation, and implementation of ITS systems for major roads and highways.
• Comprehensive understanding of international ITS standards, traffic management methodologies, and communication networks.
• Hands-on experience with Traffic Management Centers (TMC), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Variable Message Signs (VMS), Automatic Incident Detection (AID), traffic signals, vehicle detection tech, and fiber-optic communication.
• Strong skills in coordination, technical assessment, and management of multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Head the planning, design, review, and deployment of ITS solutions on large highway and infrastructure initiatives.
• Develop and critically assess ITS-related studies, designs, technical specifications, and reports.
• Coordinate seamlessly with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and authorities to ensure project milestones are attained.
• Review contractors' submissions, shop drawings, and integration prerequisites to ensure compliance.
• Support testing phases, commissioning activities, and operational integration of ITS.
• Maintain adherence to project standards, local governmental regulations, and global industry best practices.
