About the Role
IXL Learning, a leading EdTech company whose personalized learning products serve millions globally, is seeking enthusiastic New Graduate Software Engineers in its Raleigh, North Carolina office. This role involves developing innovative educational software that positively impacts learners and educators worldwide. H1B visa sponsorship is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to building backend infrastructure, application logic, and user interfaces that drive user engagement. You will select and implement suitable technologies to add new features and build entirely new products. Your involvement encompasses the full software development life cycle, including system design, programming, testing, debugging, and optimization. You will own projects from inception through deployment, collaborating closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding educational products for students and teachers globally.
Technology Environment
The technology stack varies by team but generally includes backend programming with Java, Python, and TypeScript on AWS infrastructure. Mobile development employs React Native. Front-end interfaces use JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks like React and Next.js. Data storage utilizes PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Valkey.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong programming capabilities.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven with ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Familiarity with Unix, Python, Java, SQL, or JavaScript is advantageous.
- An intention to advance educational technology through creative development.
