Role Overview
As a Staff Nurse at St Luke's ElderCare in Singapore, you will lead nursing efforts and ensure the delivery of excellent care to elderly residents within the assigned centre or residence. You will also orient and mentor junior nursing staff through ongoing education and supervision to maintain high-quality nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to ENHS standards for care and documentation activities.
- Take charge in emergencies by providing first aid and arranging ambulance services when necessary.
- Act as an expert consultant, offering clinical guidance to junior nurses on nursing-related professional matters.
- Conduct daily rounds to assess and monitor residents’ health and nutritional conditions.
- Perform physical examinations and minor clinical procedures in line with your competency.
- Ensure timely collection and dispatch of specimens.
- Create nursing care plans respecting residents’ preferences and welfare.
- Review and update nursing care plans every six months or upon any change in residents’ conditions.
- Promptly initiate interventions and evaluate resident management to reduce avoidable hospitalizations.
- Administer medications strictly following the "10 Rights" principle.
- Monitor and report adverse reactions or medication effectiveness.
- Assess intervention outcomes and communicate with the Care Manager if necessary.
- Document nursing care accurately, clearly, and comprehensively per standards.
- Lead the team in following escalation protocols and filing Incident Reports for medication errors or adverse reactions.
- Oversee day-to-day household operations in the absence of the Care Manager.
- Participate in additional projects assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Graduate Diploma in Nursing or a related field.
- Minimum of three years' relevant nursing experience.
- Holding a valid Staff Nurse license from the Singapore Nursing Board.
- Demonstrated patience and empathy when caring for elderly individuals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a teamwork attitude.
- Ability to work independently under time pressures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
