Overview
Tata Consulting Engineers seeks experienced candidates for the position of Store Assistant / Material Manager based in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The role is essential for overseeing warehouse operations and material management in industrial projects such as EPC, mining, infrastructure, and mineral processing sectors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise central warehouse and project laydown yard activities, including implementation of storage procedures and material control systems.
- Manage and lead warehouse staff, storekeepers, material controllers, and logistics teams.
- Coordinate storage needs for oversized and heavy equipment, ensuring designated areas are maintained appropriately.
- Oversee receipt and verification of materials, equipment, and vendor shipments including preparing Goods Receipt Notes and confirming quantities against purchase documentation.
- Detect, document, and report issues such as shortages, damages, and discrepancies.
- Maintain material receiving registers, computerized inventory controls, and perform periodic stock audits and reconciliations.
- Guarantee traceability and proper identification of storage locations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure equipment preservation according to vendor requirements and conduct routine inspections to maintain storage conditions.
- Control material issuance to contractors and project teams by verifying requisitions and approvals, coordinating with procurement and other departments for smooth material flow.
- Prepare comprehensive inventory and warehouse reports supporting project management with up-to-date material availability information.
Candidate Profile
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Graduate degree in any specialization.
- Experience requirements vary by role: Store Assistant requires 5 to 8 years in warehouse/store operations and inventory management; Material Manager requires 8 to 12 years in material management, warehouse operations, logistics coordination particularly within large-scale industrial projects.
- Familiarity with construction materials, equipment handling, and documentation processes is essential.
- Previous leadership experience overseeing teams in EPC, infrastructure, mining, or process plant projects is required for Material Manager role.
