About the role
This position sits within Uber’s strategy and planning function and supports senior leadership with analysis that shapes global operational direction. The work centers on identifying high-value opportunities, tracking performance, and turning data into decisions that improve business outcomes.
The environment is fast-paced, complex, and highly cross-functional. Success in this role requires strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to work with urgency while keeping a high standard of quality. You’ll help lead priority initiatives across a matrixed organization and contribute to projects that have wide-reaching operational impact.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex performance datasets across the global portfolio to surface trends, drivers, and opportunities for the next stage of growth.
- Set up and guide collaborative operating models from scratch, partnering with Product, Operations, Engineering, and Legal to deliver outcomes.
- Translate difficult datasets into clear stories and recommendations that support executive decision-making.
- Evaluate new growth opportunities across different verticals and industries using rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Pinpoint the major levers in operating models and lead strategic work that simplifies complexity and creates global impact.
- Step into ambiguous operational gaps, help local teams move critical initiatives forward, and maintain progress in messy or unclear situations.
Required experience and qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, or analytical operations.
- At least 1 year of people management experience or an equivalent leadership background.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business-related area such as Economics, Business, or STEM.
- Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or another quantitative discipline.
- Preferred: Strong SQL skills and practical experience using data to guide business decisions.
- Preferred: Proven ability to present complex topics to senior executives.
- Preferred: Comfort working through ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities in fast-moving, high-growth settings.
- Preferred: Strong business judgment with the ability to connect analysis to real operating problems and strategic choices.
- Preferred: Experience leading large cross-functional programs and influencing stakeholders without formal authority.
- Preferred: Background in high-growth operations or startup environments.
- Preferred: Ability to define strategy, set initiatives and OKRs, and build and lead a strong team.
- Preferred: Excellent communication and presentation skills, plus experience managing cross-functional partnerships.
Compensation and benefits
For New York City, NY-based roles, the annual base salary range is USD 162,000 to USD 180,000.
You may be eligible for Uber’s bonus program, equity awards, and other forms of compensation. Full-time employees can participate in a 401(k) plan and access a range of benefits.
Work arrangement
This role is listed as remote, but offices remain an important part of collaboration and company culture. Unless approved for fully remote work, employees are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the office.
