About the Role
Ellos HR Solutions is collaborating with a reputable global Tier 1 automotive manufacturer to find an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This role offers a fantastic chance to guide supply chain activities within a dynamic automotive production environment, focusing on enhancing purchasing, materials management, inventory control, supplier relations, and customer delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Purchasing and Materials departments ensuring consistent production support.
- Formulate sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and foster strong supplier partnerships.
- Optimize inventory levels, plan materials efficiently, and maintain on-time delivery commitments.
- Track essential supply chain metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Support new product launches and engage in cross-functional projects to drive operational excellence.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, manage corrective actions, and pursue cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service teams to meet organizational goals.
- Mentor and develop supply chain personnel to build a high-performing team.
Candidate Requirements
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Materials Management.
- Extensive experience working with Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related fields, or comparable practical experience.
- In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other automotive quality standards.
- Hands-on experience supporting APQP processes and new product introductions.
- Demonstrated leadership overseeing purchasing, materials, inventory, and logistics teams.
- Expertise in negotiation, supplier development, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong communication, organizational capabilities, and leadership aptitude.
- APICS certification is a valuable addition.
