Role Overview
St. Regis Downtown Dubai is looking for a Tailor to handle garment mending, alterations, and uniform management within the housekeeping and laundry function. The role supports both guest clothing and employee uniforms, ensuring items meet the property’s presentation and quality standards.
Key Duties
- Carry out repairs and alterations on guest garments and staff uniforms using hand stitching, adhesive patches, or a sewing machine.
- Issue clean uniforms to team members based on company guidelines and operational requirements.
- Route damaged uniforms to the correct repair channel, such as an in-house seamstress, housekeeping, or an external vendor.
- Log guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests, along with minor garment repairs and pressing, according to company procedures.
- Track uniforms that are assigned, unassigned, returned, or sent for cleaning.
- Check uniforms for wear or damage and remove unusable items from circulation, replacing them when needed.
Standards and Workplace Expectations
- Comply with all company, safety, and security rules and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Safeguard company property and assets.

- Listen carefully and respond professionally to colleagues’ concerns.
- Greet guests in line with brand standards and respond proactively to service needs.
- Assist guests with disabilities when needed and show appreciation courteously.

- Meet expected quality standards in all tasks.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including a full shift when required.
- Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- No high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory background is needed.
- No license or certification is required.
