Job Overview
The company is looking for an expert Technical Mechanical Engineer to oversee and support the design, review, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems in a prestigious high-rise tower project based in Riyadh. The role ensures the proper design and installation of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical infrastructures adhering to project specifications, local laws, international codes, quality benchmarks, and set timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and verify mechanical design and shop drawings related to HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and chilled water systems for high-rise tower developments.
- Develop and coordinate mechanical shop drawings ensuring alignment with approved designs, BIM models, and actual site conditions.
- Create and update As-Built mechanical drawings to document real site implementations for records and operations handover.
- Prepare and validate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for mechanical work to assist procurement, tendering, and management of change orders.
- Conduct quality control and technical inspections comparing installations to approved designs, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Saudi codes.
- Drive BIM coordination for mechanical services, addressing and resolving interdisciplinary clashes.
- Review technical submittals from vendors, including equipment datasheets and material approvals.
- Offer expert advice to site engineers regarding complex design and installation challenges.
- Engage in testing, balancing, and commissioning assessments of mechanical systems.
- Confirm adherence to mechanical codes and project technical standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional engineering certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
- At least ten years of mechanical engineering experience specific to tower projects.
- Proficient in BIM technology and coordinated project execution.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, smoke management, and building services coordination.
- Familiarity with Saudi local regulations and obtaining necessary approvals.
Technical Expertise
- Expertise with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM coordination software.
- Well-versed in industry standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and other relevant codes.
- Experience in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical calculations, and commissioning reports.
- Knowledgeable in implementing energy-efficient and sustainable building solutions.
