About Atomic Industries
Atomic Industries is transforming manufacturing by accelerating how physical products like cars, aerospace components, and medical devices are produced. Based in Detroit, the company merges the industrial tradition of America's manufacturing center with cutting-edge AI to dramatically reduce tooling production times from months to mere days or minutes. Beyond software development, Atomic operates a fully functional factory, shipping production-grade tooling weekly, creating rapid feedback loops uncommon in the industry.
Role Overview
This role represents Atomic's inaugural recruiting position, tasked with overseeing the full recruitment lifecycle and establishing the company's talent acquisition capabilities. The position requires building sourcing pipelines, recruiting playbooks, technical tools, and eventually a recruitment team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for roles including engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership positions.
- Develop and implement Atomic's sourcing strategies incorporating outbound tactics, talent mapping, referral systems, and automation leveraging AI tools.
- Engage actively with top tier talent both online and offline, serving as a magnetic representative of the company mission to reindustrialize America.
- Travel to personally connect with candidates, hosting factory tours at Detroit headquarters to inspire commitment.
- Create an outstanding, swift candidate experience that encourages positive word-of-mouth referrals.
- Collaborate closely with founders and hiring managers to define ideal candidate qualifications and maintain rigorous selection standards.
- Implement data-driven recruitment funnels through tracking, experimentation, and continuous process refinement.
- Establish foundational talent acquisition processes and infrastructure and grow the recruitment function and team.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success in full-cycle recruitment, especially sourcing challenging roles, preferably in high-growth startups or industries such as hardtech, defense, or manufacturing.
- Deep familiarity with online talent channels including social media platforms, forums, and events.
- Proficiency in recruitment technologies, automation workflows, ATS, and AI recruitment tools emphasizing system building over repetitive tasks.
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity with a strong bias for action.
- Excellent judgment and high standards for talent evaluation under pressure.
- Persuasive and trustworthy communication skills capable of inspiring elite candidates.
- Motivated to create and lead a recruitment function rather than merely filling positions.
- Passionate about revitalizing American manufacturing through agile and scalable innovation.
Work Location and Travel
This is a remote role emphasizing outcome and candidate reach rather than geographical location. The recruiter must be willing to travel frequently to meet candidates, attend relevant talent events, and escort finalists for onsite experiences at the Detroit factory.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary combined with substantial equity in a pioneering manufacturing firm.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance covering employees and their dependents.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Paid time off with a minimum of 20 days annually.
- The opportunity to design the talent acquisition function collaboratively with company leadership and take ownership of a strategically critical position.
Additional Information
Atomic Industries is committed to diversity and equal opportunity, aiming to recruit a team reflecting a broad spectrum of experiences and perspectives.
