Tool and Die Maker

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker with expertise in sheet metal and automotive background to maintain and enhance our tooling capabilities. This role involves hands-on work with various tools including progressive and tandem types, ensuring production efficiency and quality through design analysis and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Have comprehensive knowledge of tool and die making, including progressive and tandem tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to assess design feasibility, conduct feasibility studies for new drawings, and analyze new product requirements.
• Review and analyze tool designs alongside tool makers to drive continuous process improvements and implement necessary design changes.
• Modify tools and resolve operational issues encountered during trials and production runs.
• Recommend and apply Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to existing tools to boost productivity, quality, cost-efficiency, and economy.
• Perform problem analysis, troubleshooting, on-line maintenance, and rectify issues during production processes.
• Examine tooling drawings, create detailed machining sketches, and assign appropriate machines for manufacturing.
• Coordinate with tooling suppliers to manage tooling concerns, implement engineering changes, and handle repair activities for production tooling.
• Manage machine shop operations, provide technical guidance for conventional and non-conventional machining, and oversee pre-machining of raw materials.
• Identify and institute improvements in existing tools to drive productivity and cost savings; assist procurement teams in sourcing potential suppliers.
• Oversee regular manufacturing activities on the shop floor, including manpower planning, machine scheduling, and shift management.
