Truck Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Truck Driver to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario. This role requires physical attendance at the workplace and cannot be performed remotely. Candidates must be open to relocation and willing to work in a demanding driving environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proficiency in English language communication.
• Minimum educational attainment of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Possession of a valid AZ class driving license with an Air Brakes Endorsement.
• Valid passport and clearance through criminal record, driving abstract, and drug testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks responsibly to transport various goods.
• Demonstrate expertise in mountain driving conditions.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service throughout operations.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips, including checks on tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
• Manage financial transactions related to goods transportation.
• Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay necessary information.
• Keep accurate records of cargo details, hours of service, distances traveled, and fuel consumption.

Experience and Specialization

• Experience handling long-haul, local, and provincial/territorial transport routes.
• Expertise with documentation such as accident reports, bills of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair records, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
• Competence in operating GPS and other navigation systems.
