Role Overview

As our UI/UX Designer, you will be the creative visionary behind every interaction a user has with Joy_. Your expertise will define the look, feel, and functionality across multiple facets including consumer-facing personalization and redemption flows, B2B partner portals, marketing campaigns, and the design system underpinning our products.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft end-to-end user experiences from initial wireframes and flowcharts to polished, interactive prototypes.
• Develop and maintain a scalable design system with reusable components, patterns, and standards ensuring visual consistency.
• Shape and maintain brand identity across products, marketing materials, and web platforms.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams, company founders, and commercial departments to implement design solutions aligned with product strategy.
• Lead user research, gather feedback, and iterate designs based on genuine insights.
• Create visually appealing interfaces that balance aesthetics, accessibility, usability, and conversion optimization.
• Work rapidly to release, assess, and refine design iterations continuously.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 2 to 3 years of professional UI/UX experience, preferably in startups, agencies, or e-commerce products.
• Exhibit advanced UI design skills with a sharp eye for typographic detail, color schemes, layouts, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
• Strong foundation in UX including user flows, wireframing, and prototyping, with a particular strength in crafting compelling user interfaces.
• Proficient in Figma with the ability to organize and build scalable design files confidently.
• Experience with design systems, including developing component libraries and applying design tokens.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate design choices clearly and collaborate effectively with developers.
• Fluent in both German and English, capable of working in an international team environment and addressing German-speaking users.
• A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work from consumer applications to complex dashboards.

Preferred Advantages

• Experience in e-commerce, fintech, payment solutions, or gifting-related product design.
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS to appreciate technical constraints (no coding required).
• Skills in motion design or micro-interactions.
• Illustration or iconography talents.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies, A/B testing, or analytics platforms.
• Awareness of accessibility standards such as WCAG.
• Exposure to branding and marketing asset creation.
