Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor role involves assisting the Warehouse Operations Manager in overseeing a team to meet daily workload targets while strictly adhering to Health & Safety, Food Quality and Safety, Employment Law, and EU and company hygiene regulations. The position emphasizes coaching and developing team members to meet warehouse delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan daily resources efficiently to fulfill department goals, adjusting plans dynamically throughout the day as needed.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Shift Manager and onsite trainer to ensure all skill training needs are addressed.
- Ensure timely completion of picking and loading activities to meet deadlines.
- Lead and manage the team to achieve required handling rates.
- Enforce Quality Improvement Program (QIP) compliance during shifts and ensure completion of all related paperwork; escalate product issues to the Quality Manager.
- Guarantee all picked and loaded cages meet Martin Brower standards.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work environment.
- Maintain high levels of health and safety standards within the warehouse.
- Hit targets and job standards set by management, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in work approach.
- Respond promptly to reasonable requests from management.
- Understand and motivate team members to meet company KPIs and daily output goals.
- Utilize the WMOS system to organize and plan daily operational requirements.
- Complete daily administrative tasks such as supervisor floor walks, shift reports, bible and Crown documentation, and quality audits to required standards.
- Ensure stand-up supervisors receive comprehensive training to handle all duties and manage the department when necessary.
- Engage in people management activities including recruitment, return-to-work procedures, one-on-one appraisals, and performance management discussions.
- Maintain proper product temperatures on loaded trailers to comply with quality and food safety standards.
- Volunteer for fire warden and first aid roles as required.
Qualifications and Profile
- Innovative and forward-thinking with the ability to generate improvement opportunities.

- Ability to make sound judgments and rapid decisions.
- Possession of an Associate's Degree coupled with 3-4+ years of relevant experience, including 0-1+ years in a supervisory capacity.
- Previous management experience in FMCG warehouse operations.
- Proficient in intermediate MS Office packages.
- Competence in performance management and conducting interviews.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with formal management principles, employment law, and HR processes is an advantage.
