Role Overview
The AI Content Moderator position involves reviewing, analyzing, and overseeing both AI-generated and user-submitted content to confirm compliance with platform guidelines, community standards, safety protocols, and legal regulations. This function is crucial to ensure content quality, detect violations, assist moderation workflows, and foster a secure and reliable online environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess diverse content types including text, images, videos, audio, and AI-generated material to verify conformity with established standards.
- Review flagged content systematically and apply moderation rules fairly to identify and address inappropriate or harmful material.
- Spot issues such as misinformation, hate speech, harassment, violence, spam, fraud, and other policy breaches.
- Document moderation findings, escalate complex cases appropriately, and contribute feedback to enhance moderation procedures and AI model outcomes.
- Support AI training and evaluation by validating annotations, verifying AI-generated responses, and detecting moderation gaps.
- Collaborate closely with Trust & Safety, AI engineers, policy teams, and other stakeholders to ensure fairness and consistency in moderation decisions.
- Stay alert to emerging online risks and policy changes while analyzing trends to improve operational efficiency through feedback and process improvement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Psychology, IT, Artificial Intelligence, Law, Social Sciences, Linguistics, or related fields.
- Comprehensive knowledge of content moderation best practices, platform policies, community standards, and digital safety.
- Familiar with AI-generated content, generative AI technologies, and large language models, plus an understanding of content governance.
- Proficient at objectively evaluating multimedia content using defined guidelines and standards.
- Sharp analytical abilities, sound judgment, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail to accurately detect content risks and policy violations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear, professional documentation of moderation decisions.
- Experience with content review tools, moderation platforms, ticketing systems, or digital operations software is advantageous.
- Understanding of misinformation, fraud, scams, hate speech, harassment, and platform safety concerns.
- Knowledge of responsible AI ethics, fairness, privacy, safety, and regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Ability to maintain consistency handling high volumes of content, meet quality standards and service levels.
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills for task prioritization.
- Capable of managing sensitive or potentially disturbing content responsibly and professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
- Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including Trust & Safety and AI specialists.
- Adaptability to evolving policies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
