Overview

We are seeking a dedicated AI Development Coach to guide professionals in practically adopting AI tools and fostering their ability to utilize AI effectively in their roles. Our organization, Apprentify Group, comprises six companies each with unique cultures, supporting about 10,000 learners annually and is rapidly expanding its AI training function.

Role Details

Position type: Full-time, permanent contract
Work setup: Remote-first within the UK, with occasional travel for events and onboarding
Start date: Immediate or soon after
Clearance: DBS check mandatory for all applicants
Training programmes include Level 3 (AI Practitioner) and Level 4 (AI & Automation)

Daily Work

The main responsibility involves coaching apprentices in applying AI tools effectively in their jobs and managing the compliant documentation essential to the program. This role demands adaptability to changing learner needs, business shifts, and technology updates.

Work Environment & Culture

Operating within a remote-first, fast-evolving scale-up environment, you will manage learners' progress independently and collaborate with a Delivery team dedicated to learner success. We appreciate individuals who prioritize curiosity, progress, and ownership.

Key Challenges

Preparation and maintenance of detailed documentation in line with Ofsted regulations is required, which involves significant administrative tasks. Effective governance incorporation is essential.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Proactive problem-solver who acts without prompting
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or facilitating, formal or informal
Demonstrated practical use of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot in a business context
Able to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Comfortable with ambiguity and the dynamic nature of startups

Unsuitable candidates: Those requiring highly structured guidance, preferring slow-paced work, having only theoretical AI knowledge, disliking documentation, or needing rigid corporate frameworks.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Hands-on experience with AI tools in professional settings
Proven ability in coaching, training, or facilitation
Knowledge of data ethics, responsible AI use, and information governance
Capability to translate AI adoption into actionable workplace approaches for learners
Competence in managing documentation, compliance, and progress tracking
Familiarity with digital learning platforms

Desirable: Apprenticeship delivery experience, skills in prompt engineering or automation, understanding of Ofsted/ESFA standards, and certifications like BCS AI Foundation, Microsoft AI, or Google AI.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Micro-teach session lasting 30 minutes, including a 15-minute coaching presentation followed by discussion
Stage 2: Capability interview of approximately 1 hour, focusing on AI experience and coaching methodology
