Apigee Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Apigee Developer with 5 to 10 years of relevant expertise to work full-time from our Pune or Bangalore offices. This role requires physical presence at the office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage API platforms utilizing Apigee X, Apigee Edge, and API Gateway solutions.
• Lead migration activities from Apigee Edge to Apigee X, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption.
• Create and maintain high-level architecture documentation and detailed technical tasks.
• Develop and maintain API proxies and implement policies such as Spike Arrest, Quota, OAuth/JWT verification, CORS, and Message Logging.
• Strengthen API security by applying protocols including JWT, OAuth 2.0, HMAC, and mutual TLS.
• Architect and oversee GCP infrastructure components encompassing VPC design, DNS resolution, load balancing, and private connectivity.
• Automate deployment workflows through Shell scripting alongside GitOps methodologies, specifically using ArgoCD.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, promote progressive delivery, and establish policy-as-code practices.
• Configure and optimize Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters for Apigee runtime environments.
• Set up and manage Redis, Cloud SQL databases, and associated connectivity for API services.
• Continuously monitor and diagnose API traffic using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and GCP Monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with system architects and security teams to ensure compliance and conduct threat modeling exercises.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Extensive experience with Apigee platforms including X, Edge, and Hybrid models for API management.
• Advanced understanding of Google Cloud Platform services, Kubernetes (GKE), and network design including VPC, DNS, and load balancing.
• Proficiency with Shell scripting, GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD), and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Good grasp of RESTful API design and gRPC communication protocols.
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and API gateways like Gloo and Apigee.
• In-depth familiarity with security standards and protocols such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, HMAC, and mutual TLS (mTLS).

• Work arrangement: Full-time, Work from Office (WFO) five days a week at Pune or Bangalore location.
• Educational qualification: B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization.
