About the Role
Nalco Water, part of Ecolab Company, is looking for a driven Area Manager to join their Basic Industries Division. This role demands a passionate sales expert with a documented history of success in technical sales. The main responsibility is to drive revenue and profitability through Nalco Water programs and services within targeted accounts in the water sector. The position emphasizes a consultative sales method, strong leadership in account management, and retention of key strategic accounts. Building enduring client relationships by understanding their business drivers, implementing system assurance programs, and promoting new technologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively with existing and prospective customers to grasp business needs and propose plans for continuous improvement and innovation that support sales growth in the assigned territory.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of products, services, and the market during customer discussions.
- Keep a close watch on competitors, market shares, and pricing within the designated area.
- Foster solid relationships with important stakeholders, including plant and facility executives.
- Implement sales strategies to achieve territory profit growth targets in both existing and new accounts.
- Offer technical assistance, address and escalate customer issues appropriately.
- Conduct problem-solving through system analysis, data interpretation, and delivering formal recommendations to optimize customer operations.
- Promote and support Nalco Water's technological innovations to enhance long-term customer partnerships.
- Anticipate and identify unaddressed customer needs based on in-depth knowledge of their processes.
- Collaborate with district teams on pricing, service approaches, operational efficiencies, product profitability, and strategic customer prospecting.
- Manage field chemical stock and necessary equipment efficiently.
- Deliver all customer contract reports and internal documentation, including service reports, accurately and timely.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and train District Representatives.
- Participate in company-wide cross-functional projects to transfer knowledge and implement innovative practices.
Position Details & Physical Requirements
- Location requirement: residence in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.
- Territory covers Eastern Province, Yanbu, and Riyadh.
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 25 kilograms (55 pounds) at chest height.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical sales or field sales management.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record and ability to travel extensively within territory, including overnight business trips.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.).
- Experience in water treatment and understanding of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Established connections with Saudi Water Authority or relevant governmental water projects are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to internal business systems.
- Previous autonomy-driven roles indicating strong self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
- Experience in multi-level account leadership engaging plant or facility management.
- Dedicated work ethic and ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
