Associate / Senior Research Associate - API Synthesis

Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate or Senior Research Associate specializing in API synthesis to join our pharmaceutical research team in Ahmedabad. Candidates must hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and demonstrate hands-on experience with complex organic synthesis and scale-up processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct synthetic processes involved in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) development.
• Apply advanced organic reactions including Heck reaction, Suzuki coupling, and Grignard reaction in synthesis workflows.
• Utilize chiral chemistry techniques such as separation of chiral molecules, asymmetric synthesis, and purification via column chromatography.
• Perform peptide synthesis and manage related procedures.
• Operate specialized instruments including autoclaves, hydrogenators, UV radiation devices, and column chromatography setups.
• Safely handle pyrophoric substances such as platinum, palladium, sodium metal, and butyl lithium.
• Lead technology transfer activities, scaling synthesis processes from gram to kilogram quantities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry.
• Proven experience in API synthesis and associated organic reaction techniques.
• Competence with chiral molecule handling and peptide synthesis methods.
• Experience working with hazardous pyrophoric materials and advanced lab instruments.
• Skill in scaling synthesis processes through technology transfer.
