Role Overview

As a Buyer at DP World, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, including obtaining quotes from potential suppliers, negotiating terms, placing purchase orders, and tracking deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and send Request for Quotations (RFQs) via Fax or Email based on Oracle request or email assignments.
• Validate received quotes and prepare comparative bid analysis sheets.
• Shortlist vendors, confirm quality, negotiate pricing and lead times, obtain approval from Procurement Head, and process purchase orders.
• Follow up with end users and suppliers to monitor delivery status and update system records accordingly.
• Coordinate with Finance department regarding payment processing and invoicing matters with vendors.
• Manage warranty claims, replacements, item returns, and cancel purchase orders with proper justification when necessary.
• Assist Procurement In-Charge in selecting appropriate product mixes.
• Create, place, and track purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of products meeting specifications and cost requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to build positive and long-term relationships.
• Research and recommend new suppliers to procurement leadership.
• Handle selling of scrap items as part of operations.
