Claims Handler - Property

About the Role

Abrivia Recruitment Specialists seeks a Claims Handler to join a client in the insurance industry based in Dublin City. This position involves managing a diverse range of property and liability claims predominantly at the pre-litigation phase, with the aim to achieve efficient and cost-effective resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio consisting of property and other mixed claims before litigation through to their settlement.
• Evaluate policy coverage, determine appropriate reserve levels, and implement claims handling strategies accordingly.
• Maintain communication and collaborate with loss adjusters, brokers, and other third-party stakeholders to advance claims.
• Identify opportunities for settlements and aid in negotiation efforts to ensure prompt closure of claims.
• Continuously monitor claims files to guarantee accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost control.
• Support fraud detection efforts and participate in ongoing team improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal company standards throughout claims handling.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum Chartered Insurance Practitioner (CIP) qualification or actively pursuing it combined with relevant insurance claims experience.
• Proven expertise in managing pre-litigation claims, preferably with a focus on property-related exposures.
• Solid knowledge of insurance policy coverage and claims processing procedures.
• Strong negotiation skills accompanied by effective communication abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
• Customer-centric mindset paired with a proactive, organized work style.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving team environment.

Working Conditions

This role is primarily based in Dublin City with a hybrid working model that requires attendance in the office two days per week following an initial training period.
