Job Overview

This position is based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a full-time evening role on-site, scheduled from Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The hourly wage is $18.70. This opening is for an existing vacancy.

What You’ll Do

You will help ensure the facility remains clean, welcoming, and well maintained. The work includes routine housekeeping, sanitation, and light maintenance support across multiple areas of the building.

Areas to Be Cleaned

• Offices, auditoriums, classrooms, washrooms, kitchens, dining spaces, halls, entrances, exits, reception areas, and similar spaces

Core Duties

• Carry out proper sanitation and disinfection practices.
• Refill supplies when needed.
• Dispose of waste in the correct bins.
• Clean dry and wet spills throughout the facility as required.
• Keep storage rooms, cleaning tools, and materials organized and secure.
• Flag equipment breakdowns and stock shortages.
• Handle minor maintenance tasks or report them as needed.
• Document or report any damage or vandalism.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Technical Ability

• Experience with auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet cleaning equipment, and tucker poles.
• Working knowledge of standard cleaning methods, chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Familiarity with WHMIS requirements.
• Ability to read and follow labels and written instructions.
• Prior custodial experience is considered an advantage.
• Security and criminal record screening must be acceptable.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s licence is mandatory.
• Ability to successfully pass a Canadian background check.
