Core Banking Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a Core Banking Specialist to oversee and manage all activities related to the bank's core banking systems centered on Temenos technology. The role focuses on ensuring optimal application use and delivering cost-efficient, effective solutions for bank users.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the bank’s comprehensive IT core banking systems to reduce response times and enhance operational efficiency, including Temenos Transact and Temenos Payment Hub.
• Collaborate with product development teams to integrate new banking products into existing IT solutions.
• Offer technical support and expertise for IT project development and system integration.
• Work with business unit leaders to translate their requirements into functional IT solutions and implement continuous system improvements.
• Ensure IT solutions meet all business and operational needs.
• Identify and report system interdependencies and issues to the Project Management Office.
• Engage in preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and vendor selection processes.
• Develop thorough documentation for all new core banking IT systems and channel projects.
• Monitor system performance by gathering user feedback, diagnosing complicated problems, recommending solutions, and proposing performance enhancements.
• Oversee vendor staff ensuring adherence to application support standards and work closely with third-party vendors to improve application stability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Provide onsite vendor support concerning application-related requests to guarantee effective service delivery.
• Coordinate with external organizations to resolve transaction disputes or problems that cannot be handled internally.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing costs and increasing operational productivity by upgrading applications and evaluating their cost-benefit results.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 to 8 years of pertinent IT experience, preferably within the banking sector.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Temenos Arrangement Architecture (AA) and implementation of Islamic banking products and parameterization.
• Expertise with Temenos Payment Hub including ISO 20022 messaging standards and payment systems like local RTGS, SEPA, SWIFT-MX, and ACH.
• Hands-on experience with Temenos T24 Transact implementation, upgrade processes, and related modules (TAFJ/TAFC).
• Proficient in managing Temenos Data Hub, data migrations, and configurations involving DES and DLM assessments.
• Competent in Close of Business (COB) management, execution, and performance tuning.
• Advanced skills in Core L3 Java development and extensibility frameworks.
• Knowledge of integration frameworks (T24 IF, IRIS), API integrations, and tools including T24 Workbench and Design Studio.
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL, along with application servers like JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic; messaging queues including ActiveMQ and IBM MQ.
• Understanding of the Temenos data model, various AA and non-AA products, and core banking modules.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues related to T24 and DLM jobs.
