Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco based in Bursledon, England, you will be the company's representative delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This position is more than just driving — it involves providing excellent customer service, handling deliveries with care, and adapting to various daily challenges. Your typical day involves working independently on the road while having support from management and colleagues at the base.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 17:00 to 22:00
• Wednesday: 09:00 to 20:00
• Thursday: 09:00 to 20:00
• Friday: 17:00 to 22:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your vehicle, trays, and work environment to ensure shopping arrives in perfect condition.
• Safely load the van and perform regular checks to confirm it is roadworthy and prepared for deliveries.
• Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding any changes to their orders, including substitutions or short-dated items, managing refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle products diligently, treating every order with the utmost care to uphold quality and foster customer trust.
• Deliver orders within allocated time slots while providing warm and friendly service that leaves customers feeling appreciated.

Candidate Requirements

• Build productive relationships with colleagues to promote team spirit and deliver excellent service.
• Exhibit friendly and welcoming behavior to customers and co-workers alike.
• Be adaptable and responsive to evolving customer requirements and workplace changes.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (either manual or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
