Overview
Oncoustics is pioneering the integration of advanced artificial intelligence with point-of-care ultrasound technologies in liver healthcare. Backed by leading institutional investors and strong collaborations with major ultrasound and pharmaceutical companies, Oncoustics seeks a dedicated ML Engineer/Data Scientist to enhance its research and development efforts in Toronto.
Role Responsibilities
- Analyze extensive datasets through data science and statistical techniques to engineer features and interpret unique trends.
- Develop biostatistical frameworks for clinical trials, supporting Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and FDA regulatory documentation.
- Create, refine, and deploy deep learning and machine learning algorithms using Python-based frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Innovate model architectures and learning methods focused on extracting valuable signals from ultrasound data.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary groups including data scientists, signal processing engineers, clinicians, and product teams for seamless integration and deployment.
- Guide and optimize feature engineering and signal processing efforts to maximize data utility.
- Stay informed of emerging AI and machine learning breakthroughs relevant to medical imaging and ultrasound applications.
- Integrate cutting-edge algorithms into existing workflows.
- Contribute actively to the planning and approval processes in compliance with FDA standards for algorithm clearance.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a graduate degree in a related scientific discipline along with a pertinent undergraduate qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ professional experience in applying data science and AI/ML techniques within healthcare environments.
- Proficient with Python and its machine learning libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Experience working with biostatistics, performance metrics, and statistical testing methodologies specific to clinical trials and medical research settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral or advanced studies focusing on biostatistics, data science, machine learning, or computer vision.
- Background in medical imaging analysis or signal processing methods.
- Familiarity with ultrasound technology and its applications.
- Exposure to FDA approval procedures related to AI/ML medical algorithms.
Additional Information
This position is based full-time onsite in Toronto, Canada. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. The role involves close interaction with multiple teams to drive innovation and regulatory compliance in AI-enabled medical imaging products.
