Role Overview

This role involves managing load coordination, scheduling, and operational support for Nevoya's electric trucking network. The Dispatcher will handle real-time freight activities, primarily resolving issues independently and escalating only when essential. Success in this fast-paced role requires precision, excellent communication with drivers, brokers, and partners, and flexibility to adapt to evolving regulations and procedures.

Working Hours and Location

Night Shift: Monday to Friday, 8pm to 4am
This position operates in a hybrid model based in Perris, California.

Key Responsibilities

Assign and coordinate freight loads with drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
Communicate effectively with drivers about schedules, routes, and issue resolution
Collaborate with brokers and vendors to maintain seamless shipment processes
Keep accurate, timely updates within dispatch systems
Monitor compliance with Hours of Service regulations for all drivers
Plan and manage electric vehicle charging to avoid delivery delays
Adjust workload priorities promptly in response to operational changes, following company policies
Assist fellow dispatchers through task delegation and operational guidance
Work with senior dispatchers on escalated challenges and potential improvements
Track and report key performance indicators such as on-time rates, empty miles, compliance, and charge management

Performance Metrics

Maintain an on-time pickup and delivery rate of at least 90%
Complete load assignments within 30 minutes of load availability
Respond to driver communications within 5 minutes
Ensure Hours of Service compliance at or above 98%
Keep empty miles below 15%
Ensure accuracy of Transportation Management System updates at 95% or more
Achieve 95% or higher trips free from electric vehicle charging delays

Qualifications

Minimum of three years experience in logistics, preferably in dispatch or customer service roles
Intermediate proficiency with IT and logistics software platforms
Understanding of freight industry standards and operational workflows
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues independently and quickly
Flexibility to adapt to dynamic policies and processes
College degree is preferred but not mandatory

Preferred Experience

Background in dispatch for electric vehicle fleets or sustainable transportation
Familiarity with dispatch and tracking software technologies
Experience managing operations across multiple time zones

Compensation
