Role Overview

The Economic Expert plays a crucial role in providing in-depth economic analysis, conducting thorough research, and offering informed policy advice aimed at enhancing strategic decisions within the organization. This position involves evaluating economic conditions, analyzing regulatory impacts, performing both quantitative and qualitative assessments, and delivering detailed reports and actionable recommendations to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders. The expert supports the creation and execution of evidence-driven strategies to foster economic development, sustainability, and meet the objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive economic research, market evaluations, and forecasting activities essential for strategic and policy planning.
• Evaluate the consequences of policies, regulations, legislation, projects, and investment efforts on the economy.
• Track economic trends at local, regional, and international levels to identify risks, opportunities, and developments in markets.
• Construct economic models, perform forecasts, scenario analyses, and assess financial impacts to underpin data-driven decision-making.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and impact evaluations for strategic projects and initiatives.
• Analyze macroeconomic and industry-specific data such as GDP, inflation rates, employment, trade figures, investment flows, and fiscal health.
• Gather, verify, and interpret economic and statistical information from multiple sources, both internal and external.
• Develop and present well-crafted economic reports, policy documentation, briefings, presentations, summaries, and strategic advice.
• Offer expert economic guidance to senior management, aiding executive decisions.
• Assist in developing, executing, monitoring, and reassessing economic policies, strategies, and reform programs.
• Work collaboratively with departments to incorporate economic insights into strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management.
• Perform benchmarking and comparative analysis of economic policies and regulations on a regional and global scale.
• Assess market and industry trends to pinpoint economic opportunities and potential risks.
• Develop economic performance metrics, monitoring tools, and analytical dashboards.
• Analyze the economic effects of legislative, regulatory, and fiscal changes.
• Create economic forecasts and scenarios to support long-term planning efforts.
• Communicate key economic insights, projections, and recommendations to executives, committees, and external parties.
• Engage with governmental bodies, regulators, academic institutions, international entities, and other stakeholders concerning economic subjects.
• Guarantee the quality, accuracy, and consistency of economic data, applied methodologies, and analytical outcomes.
• Stay current with advances in economic theories, analytical techniques, and global best practices.
• Contribute economic expertise in multidisciplinary projects and provide analytical support.
• Mentor junior team members while promoting knowledge exchange and ongoing improvement.
• Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by management in line with the role’s scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related area.
• Master's degree in Economics or allied discipline is preferred.
• Five to eight years of relevant experience in economic research, policy formulation, or economic analysis.
• Experience working with government authorities, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, or international organizations is advantageous.
• Dense understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and economic policy development.
• Proficiency with statistical and analytical software such as Excel, Stata, R, SPSS, Python, or equivalents.
• Excellent analytical reasoning, quantitative skills, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex economic data to diverse audiences.
• Effective stakeholder engagement, collaboration abilities, and relationship management skills.
• Competence in planning, organizing, and coordinating projects.
• Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to high-quality work output.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
