EHS Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Apply and maintain the L&T Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC EHS Integrated Management System across business unit operations and project locations.
• Promote the L&T L.I.F.E. (Living – Injury – Free – Everyday) initiative and support the Zero Harm approach.
• Ensure delivery of L&T L.I.F.E. EHS leadership training across projects.
• Assist with project start-up activities and early mobilization from an EHS perspective.
• Intervene immediately when unsafe work is observed and reinforce the “Don’t Walk by” and “Commitment to Action” mindset.
• Coordinate EHS matters across HCI IC projects through regular reporting, site visits, and timely circulation of information.
• Carry out EHS risk management activities and make sure every project is audited twice a year.
• Deliver site-level EHS training to employees and workmen.
• Advise Business Unit Heads and Project Heads on weak areas in the EHS IMS and its implementation.
• Share EHS performance updates and reports with the HCI IC EHS Head, Business Unit Heads, and Project Heads.
• Coordinate with independent EHS consultants and guide their activities.
• Build awareness that EHS is a core part of effective management.
• Recommend actions to management on all EHS-related matters.
• Support incident investigations, review investigation reports before submission to management, and participate in all fatal and serious injury cases.
• Compile accident, incident, and near-miss data; prepare and circulate reports on accident prevention and overall EHS performance.
• Maintain strong communication with Project EHS Managers, Project Heads, and Business Unit Heads to ensure smooth flow of EHS information.
• Attend the Business Unit EHS management review meeting once every 12 months.
