Job Overview

A respected electrical contracting company based in Kerry, Ireland is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to become part of their team. This role involves preparing precise cost estimates and quotations to support the successful execution of electrical projects across commercial and industrial sectors, from initial tender stages through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate detailed and accurate cost estimates and bids by analyzing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Examine electrical diagrams, schedules, and specifications to fully understand project needs.
• Perform material quantity take-offs and solicit price quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with project managers, site personnel, and suppliers during the tendering stage.
• Contribute to value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficient solutions.
• Facilitate smooth project handover by communicating estimate details to the execution teams.
• Keep tender documents and records organized and up to date.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven background in electrical estimating, pricing, or tendering in an electrical contracting context.
• Ability to interpret electrical layouts, schedules, and specifications to produce precise quotations.
• Strong commercial insight paired with excellent attention to numerical accuracy and detail.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel, email communication, and dedicated estimating software.
• Effective communication skills with capability to collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Practical knowledge of electrical installation processes, supported by hands-on trade experience, site-based roles, or formal engineering education is highly regarded.
• Completion of relevant estimating or commercial training will be considered an advantage.
