Role overview

An opportunity is open for an Electrical Technician based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This position reports to the Electrical Supervisor and supports the electrical maintenance team by handling both technical and supervisory responsibilities.

Job summary

The role is responsible for electrical maintenance activities across the section. The selected candidate should be skilled in electrical maintenance work as well as in coordinating and guiding technical work. The job involves planning resources, arranging maintenance execution through self, team members, or contractors, and making sure all maintenance tasks are completed on time while meeting quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, assign, and timetable manpower for routine maintenance tasks so daily objectives are achieved according to company and industry procedures.
• React quickly to breakdowns and urgent repairs to bring equipment and machinery back into service as fast as possible.
• Check and, where needed, update preventive maintenance plans for assigned assets such as motors, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, and VSB systems in line with manufacturer guidance and industry norms.
• Keep the work area neat, orderly, and compliant with company housekeeping expectations.
• Follow all HSE rules and instructions to maintain a safe workplace.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks with technicians and highlight safety concerns related to the assigned work.
• Remain available for standby duties when required, including during shutdowns, plant turnaround activities, and other urgent plant needs, and arrange suitable technicians for emergency work.
• Use MS Office and SAP at a working level.

Requirements

• High school or diploma qualification in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent background.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on operational experience in electrical maintenance within a chemical or petrochemical environment.
• Ability to coordinate the right technicians to diagnose issues and restore equipment to normal operation.
• Capability to supervise work practices and ensure compliance with quality and safety expectations at job sites.
• Understanding of permit conditions and the discipline to ensure they are followed during work execution.
• Ability to arrange materials and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
• Strong punctuality standards and the ability to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Experience monitoring overtime to keep maintenance work efficient and cost-effective.
• Good command of spoken, written, and reading English.
