Role Overview

Join the Global Dealing Desk to execute equity and listed derivatives trades across Asian, regional, and global markets, focusing primarily on a significant Asian market such as India, China, Hong Kong, or Japan. This role operates within an institutional asset management framework, partnering closely with portfolio managers, operations, compliance, risk, and external counterparties to ensure precise execution while upholding stringent controls and market insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle cash equity trades in a major APAC market and support trading of global equities and listed derivatives.
• Conduct trading of futures, options, and ETFs using knowledge of arbitrage opportunities and market dynamics.
• Enhance trade execution by choosing suitable venues, algorithms, counterparties, and strategies.
• Provide best execution standards with consistent order management aligned to client goals.
• Stay current with market structure, liquidity, exchange regulations, settlement procedures, and derivatives knowledge.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers on trade strategy, market insights, and liquidity assessments.
• Utilize EMS/OMS platforms and data analytics for streamlined, technology-supported trading operations.
• Regularly assess execution performance through transaction cost analysis (TCA) and data-driven improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, client instructions, exchange policies, and internal guidelines.
• Manage market conduct risk and assist with audits, regulatory examinations, and control checks.
• Establish and nurture relationships with brokers, exchanges, and technology suppliers.
• Work across Risk, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Technology teams to address trading challenges.
• Contribute to automation and process efficiency projects as well as the deployment of new trading technologies.
• Continuously deepen knowledge in product range and asset classes to meet evolving investment objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience as a dealer with core expertise in a key Asian equities market.
• Familiarity with listed derivatives including futures and options.
• Strong comprehension of market microstructure, liquidity dynamics, and execution methodologies.
• Experience balancing electronic and voice trading with adherence to correct protocols.
• Proficient in trading platforms such as EMS/OMS and skilled in data analytics tools.
• Ability to analyze trading metrics to identify performance improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on risk and compliance.
• A proactive attitude with enthusiasm for technology, automation, and process enhancements.
• Robust academic background and openness to expanding product and market knowledge.
