Department and Location

The role is positioned within the Engineering - SigInt Products - Software Development division in Nuremberg. The team specializes in EW technologies such as Airborne Radar Electronic Support Measures (R-ESM), Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Communications Intelligence (COMINT), Communications Electronic Support Measures (C-ESM), and sensor data fusion.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance modern web frontends for sensor applications.
• Engage hands-on with contemporary frontend frameworks and technologies such as Angular, React, Vue, and TypeScript.
• Maintain and upgrade legacy Java-based desktop applications utilizing Swing/AWT technologies.
• Integrate frontend solutions with backend services via RESTful HTTP APIs.
• Refactor and restructure current applications to improve maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Implement UI/UX concepts in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure excellent user experience.
• Continuously optimize usability, responsiveness, and overall application performance.
• Utilize modern development tools and processes, including Git version control, code reviews, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
• Contribute actively in an agile Scrum team, participating in technical decisions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Extensive experience in frontend development with modern frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Java desktop applications.
• Experience integrating frontends with backend services through REST/HTTP APIs.
• Strong familiarity with development best practices including Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Keen eye for UI/UX design, usability improvements, and optimizing responsiveness and performance.
• Organized and independent work style combined with strong team collaboration and communication skills.
• Fluent German communication skills and good command of English, both oral and written.
