General Labourer

About the Role

The Salthill Hotel in Galway is seeking a proactive General Labourer to support their team during ongoing renovation projects aimed at enhancing the guest experience. This role is hands-on and best suited for individuals experienced in construction, refurbishment, or general labor tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the refurbishment efforts of hotel amenities and services as a team member.
• Assist specialized trades such as painters, carpenters, and electricians with room renovation activities.
• Carry out demolition work including the removal of outdated fixtures, furniture, and flooring.
• Responsible for loading and unloading construction materials and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across all work zones.
• Assemble and install new furniture and fixtures as required.
• Ensure compliance with site safety rules and directives from supervisors or managers.
• Conduct general site tidying and provide support tasks to maintain order.
• Adhere strictly to Health and Safety legislation, policies, and best practices throughout all maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Possession of a Safe Pass certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong ability to comply with safety guidelines and workplace protocols.
• Demonstrates self-motivation with good task prioritization skills.
• Attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high standards.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
• Willingness and flexibility to work varying hours as per project demands.
• Good proficiency in English to communicate effectively on site.
