Company Overview
Ameritex Machine and Fabrication operates as a fast-moving, high-variety production and fabrication business with ISO 9001:2015 certification. The facility specializes in sheet metal and structural fabrication and works with equipment such as CNC fiber lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support several assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, the company supplies customers across energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace sectors. Operations are based in a modern 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Conroe, Texas.
Role Summary
The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for building, rolling out, and maintaining safety programs that support compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The role includes workplace inspections, employee safety training, incident review, and active support in creating a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, put into practice, and track safety policies and procedures so they align with regulatory requirements.
- Carry out routine audits and walkthroughs of the plant to spot hazards and suggest corrective actions.
- Plan and deliver safety training sessions so employees understand and follow safety standards.
- Review accidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and propose preventive steps.
- Keep organized and accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activity.
- Work with leadership to strengthen a company-wide mindset centered on safety.
- Monitor updates in safety regulations, industry practices, and compliance expectations.
- Help develop emergency response plans and lead drills to improve readiness.
- Act as the main contact for questions, issues, and concerns related to workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a safety-related position, ideally in manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of OSHA rules and other applicable safety standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good people skills.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with teams.
- Safety certifications such as CSP or CIH are considered an advantage.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software effectively.
