The Human Resources Generalist is essential in managing day-to-day HR operations. Responsibilities

  • Manage bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff, ensuring accuracy for overtime, shift premiums, specialty pay, and deductions; audit and resolve discrepancies in time records and reports.
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans; manage new hire enrollment, benefit adjustments, leave, and open enrollment; act as primary benefits contact and reconcile invoices.
  • Lead recruitment efforts by posting job openings, organizing interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment offers; coordinate onboarding processes ensuring thorough background and credential verification.
  • Provide employee relations support addressing HR policies, benefits inquiries, investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, and engagement initiatives, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations; assist with leave management, unemployment claims, workers' compensation documentation, and HR audits; prepare and maintain HR metrics and reports.
  • Maintain HRIS system accuracy, support testing, process improvements, report generation, and assist with implementation of new HR technologies.
  • Support special HR projects, organizational initiatives, cross-training, and additional duties as needed to sustain HR department functions and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience combinations acceptable.
  • Minimum three years of progressive HR experience including payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Experience in healthcare, EMS, public safety, or other 24/7 operational environments is highly beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay ranges from $28.00 to $31.00.
