Inspector (Rotable)

Role Overview

This position is based at Boshoek Smelter in Boshoek, North West, South Africa, with reference number 671. The Inspector (Rotable) will manage rotable and repairable equipment transit between the plant and vendors, ensuring quality standards and adherence to policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of rotable and repairable equipment from the plant to vendors and back, including collection and delivery operations.
• Promote continuous improvements in equipment availability, reliability, safety, and product quality.
• Follow all Procurement to Payment (P2P) and repair/rotable equipment policies and procedures rigorously.
• Conduct quality inspections on equipment both before dispatch to and upon return from vendors.
• Physically label, inspect, approve, and update master equipment records for all rotable and repairable assets.
• Maintain documentation such as warranties and certificates by uploading related paperwork.
• Handle intake of rotable items into the REPA store and repairable equipment into the designated store, including inspections and notifying end users accordingly.
• Evaluate existing and potential new vendors.

Candidate Profile

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification, along with N2 plus relevant trade theory or a Technical Matric certification.
• Possess a Trade Certificate as a Qualified Artisan.
• Minimum of three years post-trade experience within a Ferrochrome maintenance environment.
• Proficient knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment utilized in smelter settings, covering equipment such as electrical, mechanical, instrumentation systems, furnace components, and sintering plant parts.
• Computer literate with proficiency in SAP MM and PM modules and familiarity with the Coupa system.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
• Valid driver's license code EB is required; possessing a forklift license is advantageous.
