Key duties

- Work with applicants, developers, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the consent journey.
- Handle enquiries about land use, subdivision, and District Plan matters.
- Offer planning guidance and support on compliance-related issues.
- Carry out property enquiries, PIM reviews, and site visits when needed.
- Contribute to District Plan implementation, reviews, and planning initiatives.
- Look for ways to strengthen systems, processes, and customer service outcomes.
What you need
The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in Planning, Resource Management, Surveying, or a related discipline, along with at least three years of planning experience. You should have a solid understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 and associated legislation, plus strong analytical, report-writing, and decision-making ability. Good communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is a proactive, service-oriented mindset. You will also need to work well on your own while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
Why consider this opportunity
