Role Overview
We are seeking an Investment Associate to join our San Francisco office to provide comprehensive support to the Investment Team. This role will concentrate on trading, conducting research and analysis, and performing due diligence on private alternative asset strategies such as Private Equity, Private Credit, and Private Real Estate. Additionally, the associate will assist broader investment initiatives across various strategies and asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with portfolio management activities including directed trading and portfolio rebalancing tasks such as tax loss harvesting, cash management, and implementing strategy changes.
- Support onboarding and trade execution related to long-short direct indexing managers.
- Conduct portfolio analysis by modeling current and potential client portfolios in alignment with the firm's strategies and prepare asset allocation recommendations.
- Help advisors develop and design presentations incorporating portfolio analytics, market research, and financial planning assumptions.
- Perform performance analysis and research on securities including stocks, ETFs, Treasuries, and active private funds; research private investment opportunities and assess underlying managers.
- Lead marketing efforts by designing, creating, and managing client letters, factsheets, pitchbooks, and presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint, combining strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a keen eye for design to support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Regularly update returns and statistics for private investments using portfolio management systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- Genuine interest in investment advisory and private alternative investments.
- Demonstrated project and time management capabilities with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a multitasking environment.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new software tools.
- Familiarity with investment software such as Addepar, Redblack, Morningstar, Pitchbook, and Bloomberg is advantageous.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Progress towards CFA or CAIA certification considered a plus.
- At least two years of relevant experience in banking, wealth management, or related financial services sectors.
