Position Overview
Based in Singapore, this role supports the Logistic Manager in overseeing logistics activities throughout Southeast Asia, with an emphasis on managing ocean vessel shipments. Coordination with the commercial team aims to optimize the value of trading portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with commercial teams, destination offices, global logistics, origin shippers, and freight parties to plan and resolve shipment-related matters.
- Track shipment processes at loading and unloading ports to guarantee smooth operations, alerting the value chain of risks or issues promptly.
- Maintain and revise shipment schedules and planning documents as needed.
- Work alongside freight operations, destination offices, and brokers to address logistical challenges and ad hoc queries.
- Supervise vessel acceptance by coordinating with port agents and freight companies to ensure vessels meet loading and discharge terminal requirements.
- Authorize logistics-related expenses such as freight payments, taxes, and additional charges including artificial separation and double berth costs.
- Interface closely with execution teams and destination offices regarding shipment progress and liaise with the laytime desk for timing issues.
- Coordinate with freight operations on pre-stowage planning, updates in execution strategies, arrival schedules, and miscellaneous requirements like hatch sealing and bill of lading deadlines.
- Participate in special projects and generate reports to enhance and standardize logistics efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience in logistics management within the commodity sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities combined with quick learning, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills across diverse teams.
- Adaptability to multicultural environments and multiple geographic locations.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and technical capabilities.
- Collaborative mindset with a team-oriented approach.
