L2 Azure AWS Kubernetes Support Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Level 2 support engineer specializing in Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes to provide operational support for cloud infrastructures. This role demands expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing cloud resources across multiple platforms within a structured ITIL framework, supporting a global environment with rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 technical support for Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes platforms.
• Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents and service requests promptly.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters including managing deployments, namespaces, ingress controllers, and container workloads.
• Support cloud networking components including security groups, load balancers, IAM roles, and storage solutions.
• Conduct root cause analyses and problem management activities to enhance platform stability.
• Maintain platform availability, reliability, and performance across supported cloud environments.
• Collaborate effectively with Level 3 support, cloud architects, and application teams for complex issue resolution.
• Participate in shift handovers ensuring continuity and maintain accurate operational documentation.
• Adhere to ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management throughout all tasks.

Technical Competencies

Microsoft Azure: Experience with Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks (VNet), Azure Storage, Load Balancers, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Security & IAM, and Resource Groups.

AWS: Manage EC2 instances, VPCs, IAM roles, S3 storage, CloudWatch monitoring, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB/ALB), Route53 DNS, and Auto Scaling groups.

Kubernetes: Skilled in cluster administration, deployment and rollback management, pod troubleshooting, ingress controllers, networking services, ConfigMaps and Secrets, and container monitoring and logging.

Additional Skills: Strong Linux administration capabilities, shell scripting skills, proficiency in monitoring tools, and familiarity with incident and problem management in an ITIL-compliant environment.

Preferred Certifications

• Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
• AWS Associate-level certifications
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years in a Cloud Architect or Senior Cloud Engineering position with hands-on experience supporting enterprise-level cloud environments.
• Experience supporting production environments is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This position is based in Hyderabad and requires working in rotational shifts to support global teams. The role is employed by Michael Page and deployed on a long-term strategic engagement with our client in the consumer products sector located in India.
