Landscape and Irrigation Engineer

Position Overview

Leafroot Landscape and Design is seeking an experienced Landscape and Irrigation Engineer based in Doha, Qatar, to lead landscape and irrigation projects from initial concept to completion. This role requires expertise in designing sustainable and cost-effective landscape solutions for diverse developments including commercial, residential, hospitality, and public sectors.

Key Duties

• Lead the planning, design, execution, and ongoing maintenance of landscape and irrigation projects.
• Create detailed landscape designs, technical drawings, irrigation system schematics, and prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Conduct design evaluations and value engineering to enhance project sustainability and cost-efficiency.
• Serve as the main liaison with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, supervision, and site operations to uphold quality, safety, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop comprehensive BOQs, cost estimates, material specifications, and tender documents.
• Review and assess design and contractor submissions and shop drawings thoroughly.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, local authorities, and suppliers through all project stages.
• Oversee construction and maintenance activities on site, ensuring workmanship quality and compliance with safety standards.
• Drive sustainable landscaping methods, water-efficient irrigation designs, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of landscape design principles, plant selection, and horticultural techniques.
• Proficient in irrigation system design, hydraulic calculations, and advanced water management strategies.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other landscape design software platforms.
• Capability to prepare and critically evaluate drawings, irrigation schematics, BOQs, and tender documentation.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, maintenance workflows, and comprehensive project lifecycle management.
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and controlling costs effectively.
• Exceptional leadership qualities to manage multidisciplinary teams efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of local regulations, environmental standards, and industry codes in Qatar.
• Strong analytical and meticulous problem-solving ability.
• Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in time-sensitive environments.
• Proven negotiation and presentation skills and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and quality assurance evaluations.
• Experience with value engineering to optimize designs for performance and cost benefits.
• Possession of a valid driving license and readiness to travel between project locations as necessary.
