Manufacturing Line Leader - Evening Shift

About the Role

Join a well-established Irish family-owned food company in Carnmore, Oranmore, Co. Galway as an Evening Shift Manufacturing Line Leader. This position entails leading and managing the final stage of production to ensure products are packaged, labeled, and tracked accurately before dispatch. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be critical in a fast-paced food production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Begin work slightly before 1:00 pm to prepare the box room for the production shift.
• Supervise box room operations during the evening shift (1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday).
• Ensure products are correctly boxed, labeled, dated, and traceable to meet quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with cooking, slicing, and packing teams to achieve production objectives.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Oversee quality checks for product presentation, weights, and expiration dates.
• Train, mentor, and manage box room staff effectively.
• Keep the box room organized, clean, and operate stock rotation using FIFO principles.
• Identify and report any issues such as incorrect labeling, damaged goods, or shortages promptly.
• Assist in audit processes by ensuring all procedures and documentation are properly maintained.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment, preferably in an end-of-line or box room role.
• Proven ability to lead or supervise a small team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene, and HACCP principles.
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially around labeling, dating, and traceability.
• Comfortable working in a demanding and fast-moving production environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.

Training and Development

• Comprehensive training in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Hands-on training in machinery and line operations related to cooked meats production.
