Role overview
This is a strong career opportunity for an experienced Materials Planning Lead to join a large, established and highly regarded food manufacturing company operating in regional Australia. You will report to Supply Chain leadership and be responsible for directing the materials planning area so production has a consistent flow of raw materials and packaging. The role combines inventory optimisation, planning improvement and people leadership within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of materials planning across a complex food manufacturing operation.
- Create and manage material supply plans that support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Maintain reliable availability of raw materials and packaging for manufacturing needs.
- Work in close coordination with Procurement, Production, Demand Planning and Logistics to strengthen supply chain performance.
- Oversee inventory to balance service levels, cost control and working capital goals.
- Lead improvement efforts in planning methods, systems and reporting.
- Guide, coach and develop a strong planning team.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone with solid materials planning experience in the food manufacturing sector. Prior leadership of planning teams in a manufacturing environment is important, along with a strong command of inventory control, production planning and end-to-end supply chain activity. You should also bring analytical thinking, sound problem-solving ability and confidence working with multiple stakeholders. Experience with ERP and MRP planning platforms is required.
